Technical SEO for your blog, covered down to the last tag
Technical SEO is everything that helps search engines and AI crawlers find, read and index your pages. Ranken builds it into every post: sitemaps, robots.txt, canonical tags, schema, IndexNow, fast pages and AI crawler access, with nothing to install.

What is technical SEO?
Technical SEO is the part of search optimization that makes a site easy to crawl, render, index and serve. Google describes Search as working in three stages, and a page can drop out at any of them: crawled but never indexed, or indexed but never shown.
Content earns the ranking. Technical SEO makes sure nothing stops that content from being found, which is why Ranken handles it for every page it publishes.
- 01
Crawl
Sitemaps and robots.txt point Googlebot and AI crawlers to every public page.
- 02
Render
Server-rendered HTML, so crawlers read full pages without running JavaScript.
- 03
Index
Canonical tags, schema and IndexNow help engines understand and store each post.
- 04
Serve
Fast pages, rich share cards and clean structure help posts compete in results.
Eight layers of technical SEO, applied on every publish
Each one is something a traditional CMS leaves to plugins, developers or a checklist. Jump to any of them.
How do search engines and AI crawlers find your blog?
Through XML sitemaps and robots.txt. Ranken generates four XML sitemaps for every blog (a sitemap index plus articles, categories and pages), refreshes them each time you publish and lists them in robots.txt, which also opens every public page to Googlebot and 18 AI crawlers.
- Sitemaps update the moment a post goes live
- Private API routes stay blocked, public pages stay open
- Preview blogs stay out of search until your domain is live
- sitemap.xml
- articles-sitemap.xml
- categories-sitemap.xml
- pages-sitemap.xml
How does a new post get indexed faster?
Ranken tells search engines about a post as soon as you publish it. IndexNow notifies Bing, Yandex, Naver, Seznam and Yep directly, and once you connect Google Search Console, Ranken submits your sitemap and checks each article's index status through Google's URL Inspection API. Search engines still decide what to index, but they never have to wait to hear about it.
- Indexing status for every article in one dashboard
- Google index checks through your own Search Console property
- No IndexNow plugin or key file to set up

How does Ranken prevent duplicate content?
Every page carries a canonical tag that points to one preferred HTTPS address. The http and www versions of your address redirect permanently to it, paginated lists point to themselves, and a /blog subfolder serves under your main domain, so every ranking signal collects on a single URL.
- SSL certificate on every domain, subdomain and subfolder blog
- Permanent redirects from http and www to one address
- Self-referencing canonicals on paginated pages

Which structured data does Ranken add to each post?
JSON-LD that matches what readers see. Articles get BlogPosting with the author as a Person, publish and update dates, word count and speakable sections, plus BreadcrumbList for the path. Your homepage adds Blog and CollectionPage, every page carries Organization and WebSite, cover images come as ImageObject crops in 16:9, 4:3 and 1:1, and embedded videos get VideoObject.
- Authors linked to their profile page
- Images in the three aspect ratios Google recommends for articles
- Rich results stay Google's call, the markup makes posts eligible
Schema markup is included on Starter and Pro. Compare plans

How fast do Ranken blogs load?
Pages are rendered on the server and cached on a global edge network, so readers and crawlers get complete HTML right away. Images are converted to WebP or AVIF, sized with responsive srcset, lazy loaded below the fold, and the cover image loads first to help Largest Contentful Paint. Templates are built for Google's Core Web Vitals targets: LCP under 2.5 seconds, INP under 200 milliseconds and CLS under 0.1.
- Cache refreshed the moment you publish or edit
- Responsive templates for phones, tablets and desktops
- No caching or image optimization plugin to manage

Can ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity read your blog?
Yes. robots.txt explicitly allows 18 AI crawlers, including GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and Google-Extended, and every page is plain server-rendered HTML they can parse. Each page also declares its language with hreflang, every blog has RSS feeds, and Starter and Pro blogs publish an llms.txt file.
- html lang and hreflang with x-default on every page
- RSS feeds at /feed.xml and /rss.xml

What does Ranken check before you publish?
The editor scores every article out of 100 with nine checks: a title of 20 to 60 characters with the keyword near the start, a 150 to 220 character meta description, a clean slug, keyword placement, content length, H2 and H3 headings, images and alt text, links and readability. Each check explains the fix in plain language.
- Slugs generated automatically in lowercase with hyphens
- Images checked for alt text before you publish
- Agent writer can link a related article you already published
